About Nancy
The story behind Nan’s Fashion Boutique — and the woman who built it from the ground up.
Her Story
Meet Nancy — Licensed Esthetician and Founder of Nan’s Fashion Boutique
Nancy’s story starts far from a boutique storefront. Born in Mexico, she came to the United States in her late teens and became an American to Chase the American Dream — settling in Washington State, moving between the Lynnwood area and Mount Vernon. She grew up speaking Spanish first, English second, and learned early how to make people feel comfortable in either language. That’s still true today: walk into Nan’s Fashion Boutique and Nancy will greet you, style you, and talk you through a look in whichever language feels like home.
Even as a young woman, she had two loves: clothes and beauty. Not just wearing them — she loved the styling of it, the way an outfit, a good haircut, or the right makeup could change how someone carried themselves. Making people look, and feel, pretty was never just a job to her — it was the thing she was drawn to before she had any idea it could become one.
Life had other plans first. Nancy was in her early twenties when she had her two sons, and she went to work as a house cleaner to help provide for her young family. She and her husband, Victor, turned that hustle into something real — Del Valle Cleaning Service, a business they ran together for years. It wasn’t glamorous, but it was theirs, and it gave their family stability in one of the most expensive states in the country.
Once that foundation was solid, Nancy did something a lot of parents put off indefinitely — she went back to school for herself. She trained and became a licensed esthetician, then kept going, stacking specialized certifications until she could offer the full range of beauty services she provides today: color, balayage, permanent straightening, hair botox, Brazilian blowouts, waxing, makeup, and more. Every service on her menu represents a course she completed, a skill she chose to master, on her own terms, on her own timeline.
Around the same time, the other love started creeping back in. Nancy began selling clothing on Facebook Marketplace — almost just for fun, a way to be around the styles and pieces she’d always loved. The response was immediate. Customers kept coming back, asking her opinion, trusting her eye. She and Victor looked at each other and realized they had something bigger than a side hustle.
That’s how Nan’s Fashion Boutique was born — first as a storefront in Burlington, then expanding to a seasonal pop-up at Hidden Gems Weekend Market. Today, Nancy runs a place where clothing and beauty live under one roof — where she can style you head to toe, from the outfit to the hair to the makeup, because to her they were always the same passion.
From a young woman starting over in a new country, to a mother building a cleaning business from scratch, to a licensed esthetician with a lifelong eye for style — Nancy built her own path, one step at a time. And every morning she opens Nan’s Fashion Boutique, she’s doing exactly what she always wanted to do — on her own terms, in whichever language you speak.
